Film Notes

Every time the Bertini, Pezzinga, Serena “trio” appeared in a FAI film, the roles were always divvied up in the same manner: the two men are both sentimentally linked to the young girl, who is sometimes innocent and sometimes treacherous. However, while Gustavo Serena always plays a positive role (always destined to succumb), Pezzinga always plays a cruel tyrant and traitor who nonetheless manages to get off scot-free. This copy was restored by the Centre National de la Cinématographie – Archives du Film, Bois d’Arcy, from a first generation original positive print with tinting and stencil coloring. A color internegative was used to reproduced the original colors.
