Film Notes

Speech by Maurice Thorez and a poem by Eluard in celebration of Stalin’s seventieth birthday.
Note: L’homme que nous aimons le plus is an exemplary (and surprising) immersion in the PCF’s organization of the cult of Stalin during the Cold War. The film was banned by the French censorship board and was not cleared for sale or for any other purpose. Prize for the best short lm at the 1950 Karlovy-Vary festival.
