Film Notes

During the 1940s, Lye evolved a philosophy of art and life encapsulated in the slogan “Individual Happiness Now”. But his characteristic buoyancy deserted him when making this devastating film – at 18 minutes Lye’s longest – designed as a training tool for soldiers.
