CR KIDS – TREASURES OF ESTONIAN ANIMATION FROM THE CATCH THE MOON FESTIVAL

A class trip to a museum; a clown; life in a circus; a rainbow of sounds. You will find these and much more in this selection of nine ironic and entertaining short films which are suitable for all ages. They were chosen from the extensive archive of the Estonian Academy of Arts – Animation Department where, since 2007, hundreds of animators from all over the world have been learning the art of animation under the aegis of the award-winning master Priit Pärn, the auteur responsible for the most famous masterpieces of Estonian animation. All the films in the program were produced in the last decade and presented in the context of the Catch the Moon Festival. The techniques used are varied and reflect the inspiration and dynamism of the different narrations. Catch the Moon is the first Italian festival – and among the very few in Europe – dedicated to animated films for children and young people. The Festival is financed by MIC and MIUR, within the framework of the Cinema for Schools National Plan and is organized and promoted by the association Gioco, immagine e parole.
