Film Notes

Dandy works as a cabinet-maker. When Sigismond Lebobard “the whisky champion” arrives, all is chaos in the workshop. Calm is momentarily restored when M. and M.me Mazout, “great enthusiasts for fake imitations of old furniture”, arrive. Dandy falls under the spell of Madame Mazout, who persuades her husband to buy a armoire. Dandy dreams of seeing Madame Mazout again, and prepares to deliver the armoire, in which Lebobard has concealed himself in order to sleep off his alcohol.
