The morally weak son of a rich widow gets into trouble because of his debts to a moneylender whose daughter becomes his fiancée. The drama reaches its peak in the famous “mirror-scene” where the desperate son sneaks into his mother’s living room at night to steal her money. The film was Psilander’s debut at Nordisk Films and one of the company’s best ever selling movies.
