Film Notes

In this Paramount special, designer Travis Banton (the legend himself!) Introduces his latest fashions created for the new season’s movies. Models include Joan Bennett, Claudette Colbert, Kathleen Howard, Carole Lombard, George Raft, Mae West and of course Marlene Dietrich, who shows several of the unusual costumes designed for Sternberg’s The devil is a woman. Mikhail Romm used outtakes with Marlene Dietrich in his documentary film Obyknovennyy fashizm (Ordinary fascism).
