Film Notes
Ruth Roland was the new Kalem Girl who came to the front after Gene Gauntier. Like Gauntier, she specialized in a dynamic, and even more decidedly athletic style of acting. In this short promotional film she is shown while shooting a gun, riding a galloping horse, peddling a canoe, and jumping on an airplane. True success, anyway, was to come to Ruth Roland only with her move to Balboa Studios (Pathé) and the release of the The Red Ace (a 15 episode serial) in 1915.
