Film Notes

In 1982, Mingozzi, one of the Italian directors most capable of moving effortlessly between fiction and documentary, decided to undertake a project for television on the star phenomenon, taking advantage of the availability of one of the greatest Italian stars still living: Francesca Bertini. It wasn’t an easy task to bring a feeling of reality back to a figure destined to go beyond reality to reach the abstract world of pure fascination. The film thus follows a path that continually splits in two directions. Bertini confronts her films and her own myth, allowing herself the luxury of one last, great performance.
