Film Notes

A tutor and his students go hunting for insects in the woods. Their capture of some butterflies will reveal unexpected effects: the insects turn into young girls who decide to take revenge on the entomologists. The poor tutor is condemned to the very act that he was to perform on the captured insects – that is, being ‘pinned’ to a large mushroom. He is saved by the students’ intercession. The film is noteworthy not only for its rich colouring but also for certain elements of the mise-en-scène: the image of the captured butterflies seen through a magnifying glass, and the aerial view of the tutor’s agitated movements while pinned to the mushroom.
