Film Notes
Looking like an old sea dog, his chest covered with rescue medals attesting to his valour, Boireau is busy repairing some old fishing nets. Suddenly he realises that out at sea there is a man that is struggling and seems to be trashing in the liquid element and sinking in the waves. Boireau goes into action. As soon as he has collected twenty odd lifebuoys, knocked over a dozen people and put a boat to sea, Boireau, who however does not know how to swim, is at the scene of the accident. The most difficult thing is convincing the poor victim, who is nothing other than a common bather, to get on the boat. The different strategies to conclude the rescue only result in overturning the boat. Fished out by the bather, Boireau makes an unhappy return to the beach.
