Film Notes
Boireau aspires to the hand of Mlle Jane Ronchenot, daughter of a retired colonel. Jane returns Boireau’s love but her father has someone else in mind for her husband. To win over the paternal hostility Jane and Boireau agree to ridicule the other suitor. The unfortunate boy falls so innocently for the traps that the two of them lay for him that he renders himself so comical and ridiculous that he is shown the door, whilst Boireau who has managed to carve himself a better role, sees his cunning triumph.
