Film Notes

It is the most pleasant film that Mattoli has directed up to now . It does not have transcendental pretensions, neither in terms of the psychology of the characters or the psychology of the collective, nor in terms of the nature and subtleties of relationships. It is a simple story, simply told but also with lucidity and with the adequate sparkle. Mattoli has manoeuvred, with the right tempo and measure, the host of beautiful girls at his disposal. A star is born: Alida Valli, spirited, beautiful and unselfconscious but, as always, a little obvious.
