Film Notes

Pierre and Jacques both love Augustine, the barmaid who runs the bar by the station where the two usually meet for drinks with their friends. Augustine loves Pierre; Jacques is jealous and vows to get revenge. One evening, he gets Pierre drunk and abandons him on the train tracks. Despite his drunken state, Pierre is lucid enough to move to the center of the tracks, and the train passes without hurting him. When Jacques goes to the barmaid, it is Pierre who opens the door for him. Upon this unexpected vision, Jacques goes mad and commits suicide by throwing himself from the train bridge.
