Film Notes

This is the last film of Evgenij Bauer, finished by the members of his creative team after his death. The film is an important milestone in Kuleshov’s early artistic career. Collaborating with one of the most prominent directors of the epoch, Kuleshov gained professional skills in production design, appeared in a minor part in the beginning of the film, and – most significantly – became familiar with film editing.
