Film Notes

On the recommendation of her doctor, Mme Boul prepares to leave for a thermal cure at Vittel. Her obese husband has greater need of it than she, but spends his time lounging in bed. Nervous, she leaves him his train ticket, and departs. He arrives only the next day, and chooses his hotel on account of its restaurant. His wife has embarked on her treatment, doing exercise and playing tennis; he devotes himself to fishing, goes to the races, plays golf and amuses himself at the bandstand. Wakened in the morning by a female laugh in the next room, he catches sight of a fat woman on the balcony. He embarks energetically on a cure, in order to seduce the lady in the next room. Subsequently he discovers that the lady is his own wife, and they are reconciled.
