Film Notes

Musidora plays a revue star who is the object of a married man’s infatuation. To him, she play-acts every cliché attributed to revue stars: that they are easy and somewhat vulgar, that they sponge off their admirers and take lovers only for their money. To his wife and her brother, on the other hand, she plays the modern woman of the world who believes that women should help one another and who advises the wife how to win her husband back. The contrast was most likely derived from the scenario by Nora Januxi, but the sardonic smiles with which Musidora play-acts the clichés lend them an ironic touch.
