Film Notes
Paris cinéma showed a camera being loaded, the choice of lens according to what shot was desired. It showed the actors putting on their make-up, and the sets being built. It visited the costume shop. Cavalcanti was shown while filming Le Capitaine Fracasse with Charles Boyer, Pierre Blanchar and Pola Illéry. At Gare de Lyon, it showed the filming of night scenes from Quartier Latin by Augusto Genina with Carmen Boni. Three trains took off simultaneously: Carmen Boni was on the first, waving her hanky to a man she had left on the platform; the lights necessary to illuminate the scene were installed on the second train. Our little crew filmed it all from the roof of a car belonging to a third train… For five thousand francs, we had to do it!
