Film Notes

In a collection of previously unseen documents and disparate accounts, the film recounts the fruitful relationship between Welles and Spain, an attraction which began in the early Thirties. Among the more rare materials: an original comment recorded by Welles for The Spanish Earth (Joris Ivens, 1937) and the Shylock monologue performed and filmed in Murcia. The reconstruction makes a subtle analogy between the adventures of the brilliant filmmaker and those of Don Quixote.
