The restoration of this copy started with the efforts of the Cinémathèque Royale di Bruxelles that also has a very beautiful copy with French and Flemish intertitles as well as a copy in Dutch. The work was integrated by using a copy with German intertitles preserved by the Cinémathèque Suisse at Lausanne. Using this latter copy along with the documentation of the censor’s approval it was possible to faithfully re-establish the intertitles in their text and graphic form. Unfortunately, the film still lacks 250 meters compared with the original, most of it on the first reel.
