“The film, one of the most popular ones played by Leda Gys, was preceded by exceptional publicity: Neapolitan-style decorations in movie theatres, trips to Naples for two people drawn as lottery prize, distribution of Leda Gys’s photos signed by the actress. Censorship required the cutting of a close-up of a cigarette box which read ‘Cocaine’ on its top”.
