Film Notes
Kri Kri was born as Raymond Frau in Senegal in 1887. In France he became the clown “Ovaro”; in 1912 he arrived in Italy and was hired by Cines to substitute Tontolini (Ferdinand Guillaunie) who had just left to join Pasquali & C. under the name of Polidor. Kri Kri had a great success in Italy (and also in Europe, in America and in Russia), and made about 120 comedies between 1912 and 1915. He left Italy in 1915 and returned in France, where he worked on the stage (with Mistinguett) and on screen. He died in 1953.
