Film Notes
A speaker who apes the Russian accent of certain Red documentaries tells the story of Stalin. Baldi of the Comitati Civici chooses sarcasm for explaining the immorality and the fall of the Soviet idol, which was brought on not by anti-Communists but by his closest collaborators. Baldi screened metres and metres of footage, and painstakingly edited a film that warns against the Red threat using subtle rhetoric: Be careful voting Communist – just as they betrayed their own idol, they could betray you!
