“Tom dreams of being a detective, and when his friend Archibald is robbed, he goes on the trail of the thief. His main clue is the print left by small female foot. Together with the victim, he decides on a rather peculiar investigative tactic: Archibald gets a job as a shoeshine boy and measures the feet of all the women who make use of his services while Tom goes to the skating rink and helps women to put on their skates. He then finishes by falling in love with the thief.
The main points of interest in the film are the performance of a very young and slender Machaty and Ondrakova, better known as Anny Ondra, and of whom a short screen test (2min) is inserted at the beginning of the film, shot by the director who had met her in a park”.
