A great discovery by the Cinémathèque Française that found this small, extraordinarily modern gem in its archives. This time the “Indians” aren’t shown as enemies, but rather as a people pushed onto the reserves and stripped of all their rights by the white Americans. Unfortunately the copy is missing large tracts and can’t render the full beauty of the natural setting in which Hale filmed this poetic story.
