Il Fiacre n. 13, originally divided into four episodes, is shown here in two series. Only two reels, without intertitles, remain of the first episode, which was prohibited by the censors and thus never shown in Italy. The intertitles were reconstructed from the novel by de Montépin. The present edition reconstructs the original narrative structure of the two series, thanks to positive materials held by the Fondazione Cineteca Italiana in Milan. This magnificent film, edited by the Ambrosio House, is divided into three series, and each series is represented separately. Among the protagonists, noteworthy are the brave Capozzi, an excellent Gigetta Morano, Ms. Makowska, etc.; also noteworthy are the interpretations they each give of their parts. The actress who plays the daughter of the Countess is truly lovely and quite good. The film proves quite interesting also for its rich details, the staging is superb, definitely worthy of the great Turinese production house. The public success was enormous: keen curiosity.
