Film Notes
The film adaptation of Victor Hugo’s immortal masterpiece was skillfully made by the S.C.A.G.L., which, as everyone knows, has a certain advantage, thanks to its great technical abilities in theater, in transforming novels, dramas, and comedies into perfectly executed mimetic works. […] It is therefore easy to say, though hard to imagine, the extraordinary masterpiece which has come out of the film adaptation of Miserables.

The hours spent in the cinema hall, watching the representation of Hugo’s masterpiece, which is furthermore a Pathé masterpiece, are hours of spiritual bliss. A parade of wonders: it is impossible to exemplify: I would have neither the time nor the space. You must admire and be moved, as I admired and was moved by this grandiose evocation, which for once, made me bless feature length films!
