Gafsa, in the centre-south of Tunisia, is an oasis of happiness. There must be something in the water. A man who gathers a dromedary calf in his arms laughs. A Bedouin playfully points his stick at the camera as if it were a gun. Children splash joyfully as they dive into a magnificent swimming pool, which is at once both natural and artificial. Even doing the laundry seems like a game, in which people hop and dance on the fabric, in this zone where land and water meet.
