CR KIDS | Musical shorts

I have been teaching for several years on the course in applied music at the Conservatorio Venezze di Rovigo where we pay particular attention to the connection between past and present. The idea of involving students from this course came about following a series of teaching experiences and masterclasses on silent cinema, in addition to collaborations with other festivals and cinemas for which my students have accompanied silent films. For Il Cinema Ritrovato Kids, the programmers have selected several shorts to screen for young audiences with live accompaniment. I think that it is very important to put young audiences together with youngsters who are being training in the art of accompanying silent cinema: diverse musical voices searching for modern solutions to bring us closer to images from the past.
