Giannalberto: per una storia dell’animazione globale

Refleting on animation cinema in memory of movie critic Giannalberto Bendazzi.
Masterclass curated by Cartùn APS.

With Eric Rittatore (Cartùn APS), Andrijana Ruzic, Michele Bernardi e Sandro Del Rosario. Modera Marco Bellano (Università di Padova)

Giannalberto Bendazzi (1946-2021) played an essential role in the study, safeguarding and promotion of animation, an interdisciplinary shared language that – in part thanks to his efforts –has managed to overcome the deep rooted prejudice which considered it an “infantile” form compared to live-action cinema. However, Bendazzi was much more besides: a refined and sensitive lover of music and poetry, a passionate teacher and mentor who was able to leave a lasting impression on his students and collaborators, a tireless suporter and sometimes patron of projects and (above all) talents whose value he was often the first to appreciate. All of these facets will be remembered and analysed in this event, curated by Cartùn APS, the association he founded in Genoa.
