Film Notes
With Le Pied qui étreint Gaumont and Musidora were able to recycle the Irma Vep figure. Released in May 1916, it was a spoof of the popular serials starring Pearl White and Musidora herself. In April that year, Musidora had kicked off the re-use by performing in the suit in a revue at the Scala. Feuillade’s Lagourdette Gentleman Cambrioleur, which promoted the novelisation of Les Vampires, followed later that year, and Musidora resumed appearing in the suit in stage revues in 1917.
