The film reveals the quiet beauty in physical work, the precise movements of machinery, the ritual of applying makeup before a shift, and presents working women as self-possessed and resilient. It addresses the social struggles of the working class, the struggle to gain a high school diploma, the burden of long hours, the unrelenting pressure of simply getting by.
