Film Notes
In a town in the Alps a drama unfolds in the conscience of an old Communist, ex-volunteer in World War I, soldier in Abysinnia and partisan. On one hand the flyers left by Communist comrades that urge desertion in case of a Russian invasion. On the other his creed to the alpine corps, military medal, his soldier son. As the flag is being raised the opening bars of the Comitato Civico Nazionale’s trumpets find a counterpoint in their finale – an alpine trumpet.
