Film Notes

Casarola is the name of the remote village lost in the Apennines mountains close to Parma. This is the origin of the Bertolucci family, it is a father family house. Here Attilio Bertolucci, one of the most influential italian poet of the XX century grew up. Here his two male sons Bernardo and Giuseppe spent their childhood and summer vacations for many years: it was for them the magic place of discovering, of being wild and free to experience the world around them. Here they developed โ€“ as their father did โ€“ their poetry, visions, fantasies, inner world.
