WORKSHOP: RECONSTRUCTING ANCIENT ROME
Workshop: exploring ancient Rome as a cinescape of silent films.
Organised by the research project Museum of Dream Worlds, hosted by the University of Bologna
Two workshops will explore ancient Rome as a fictional and factual cinescape of silent films by drawing inspiration from the screening of Quo vadis? (1924), set in Nero’s Rome, and of several travelogues to ancient sites in the city.
The discussion will be led by Maria Wyke and Aylin Atacan (University College London), Ivo Blom (Vrije Universiteit) and Stella Dagna (Università degli Studi di Milano).
