A journey into the imagination through a series of restored films from the beginnings of cinema that employ different colour technologies, with live music by Dominic Sambucco using real aquariums, hydrophones, audio reactive lights and synthesizers. From Les Méduses de mer, which flicker like ghosts of light, to the astonishing stencil colours of Aquarium d’eau douce, by way of La vita negli abissi del mare from the Italian production company Ambrosio, in which crustaceans appear like an ancient presence, the undersea world reveals itself in all its evocative force: a kingdom suspended between science and dream and populated by enigmatic creatures and elusive landscapes.
