Film Notes

To promote this film, the Gaumont catalogue evokes current events in the Italian-Turkish  conflict  that  was then shaking the region. With almost sublime disdain, it ignores the conflict, as if it wanted to emphasise ancestral beauty and dignity over the tragic small-mindedness of power games. It is an amazing journey through oases dotted with artesian wells, mosques, underground dwellings, olive presses, and fairytale constructions later duplicated on the planet Tatooine.
