A woman comes home from a long illness (read: a long absence). The city hasn’t changed, the man she’s returning to has. She will have to learn how to live all over again. A tragic anecdote about time gone by, told by way of a couple of taxi rides, an uncomfortable meeting in a café, several everyday gestures: turning on the gas is not a good idea. Le Passage, produced by Anatole Dauman, is glorified by its Parisian landscapes photographed by the great Pierre Lhomme and by the confrontation of two unjustly neglected actors, Edith Scob (Les Yeux sans visage) and Antoine Vitez (My Night at Maud’s).
