Film Notes

The classic popular Sicilian marionette theatre, now vanished, relates the fabulous deeds of the Paladins of France and of the Trojan War, in a highly original interpretation with images “from life”, all achieved through the sumptuous “dolls”, who perform in the temples of Segesta, Selinunte, and Agrigento (1st episode), among Sicilian castles and cliffs (2nd episode), and in the shadowy groves of La Plaja. The film won the prize for best photography at the 1948 Taormina Festival.
