Film Notes

A psychological thriller set in the closed confines of a blood-red compartment: a random travelling companion challenges Febo Mari to a game of chess, specifying only later that the stakes are death or life. The man is a lunatic who escaped from the insane asylum because nobody wanted to play with him (given the course of events, it is no surprise). A great performance by Grisanti, an irresistible maniac in a straw hat consumed by his passion. In the end, he was just looking for someone he could play a game of chess with.
