Film Notes

In Citizen Kane, Orson Welles violently rips out of the typewriter the sheets upon which Joseph Cotton had gotten drunk and vented all night long; Gregory Peck grips the back of Moby Dick and fights, screeching like a demon, hitting the animal repeatedly with his harpoon. These are the two sequences which are sampled, mixed, faded, and put in loop. Meaning, as image, is confused. Who is raging upon whom? Who is the true great white whale?
