Film Notes

Alida Valli is invited by her masseuse to a party at her house. In that simple working-class world the actress is struck by a feeling halfway between regret for a “normal” and “homely” life and envy for the romantic happiness of the girl. The film hinges on the human and private aspect of four famous actresses, each one featuring in their own episode. As well as Alida Valli, there are Ingrid Bergman, Isa Miranda and Anna Magnani.
