Film Notes
A drama, a small, realist masterpiece in six minutes, which grabs you in the first half and holds you transfixed in the second. A fluid, economical and effective narrative, with considered, meticulous editing, a child who appears in three forms (in real life, in a framed picture on the wall and in the mother’s delirium) and wonderful, strong shots such as the funeral procession observed from a road junction in front of the cemetery, or the girls playing in the park.
