Film Notes

A small town in Italy gets water for the first time in its memory. Beginning with views of the parched earth of the region, this story follows the construction of a pipeline built by the government in Rome with help from Marshall Plan matching funds. It’s amazingly photographed; one can practically feel the drought. The final shot of a little boy dousing his face with water leaves an indelible image of relief and joy.
