Film Notes
This 16mm film reel, which was shot as part of a nine-channel installation produced for an art festival, was the first and only 16mm film ever tinted and toned by Jan Ledecký. He used a bath tinting process and an iron toning to produce this print. This process required making adaptations to much of his equipment. We present this unique print, to show that real tinting and toning – carried out by a professional lab – can still be achieved today. And also to give you the authentic experience of a tinted and toned 16mm photochemical print manufactured in the 21st century.
