Film Notes
A silent production with music score added, a melodrama playing on the clash of cultures in San Francisco before the great earthquake in 1906. The lives and property of the aristocratic, Spanish Vasquez family are threatened by the ever villainous Warner Oland as Chris Buckwell, Tenderloin district boss turned real-estate developer, who hides his chinese origins and betrays his people. Characters are introduced by musical motifs.
