Film Notes

Psilander was rarely cast as the villain, but in this film he combines his charming attitude with an alarming fanaticism that develops into criminality. With his hair dyed white he plays the part of a Mormon priest who is also a terrifying psychopath and leader of a sectarian community with strange rituals. The Mormon theme was a big issue at this time, not only in Denmark, and the programme that accompanied the film includes a stirring diatribe against Mormonism that lasts for 8 pages.
