Film Notes

They are sketches in pure Marc’Aurelio style (a magazine that the young Fellini drew cartoons for), realised for the most part in front of a blue backing with extremely simple shots and electronic manipulation and using people from the crew or walk-ons. The rock-band, for example, are all electricians, as if we were in an after work competition. They were rediscovered seven years after they were shot and sensationally confirmed Federico’s anticipatory and prophetic qualities. That ability to feel and capture the mood of the time, that often would be the prevalent mood two or three years later.
