Film Notes

Der Fater is a collage of original black and white films from the thirties by the director’s father, and new color films. The intention is to let viewers share, through the eyes of the daughter, in the sequences shot by the father: his patriarchal and colonialist perspective, his sexual fantasies… In this sense, the film is about a problematic relationship, libidinous and critical at the same time, between parent and daughter.
